How It Works

Two measuring windows, one meaningful comparison

Before

Establish Your Baseline

Rent the device during your current treatment or condition. Take daily measurements to capture your baseline eye pressure — the "before" snapshot your doctor needs.

  • Measure at different times of day
  • Capture pressure during current treatment
  • Share data with your eye care provider
After

Measure the Change

After your medication change, surgery, or procedure has had time to work, schedule your second rental week. Measure again and compare the results.

  • Schedule anytime within 12 months
  • Measure under the same conditions
  • Compare data from both windows

You have up to 12 months to schedule your second rental — whenever your follow-up monitoring moment arrives.

Compare Plan answers

What to know about the Compare Plan

Before-and-after IOP monitoring for patients evaluating a treatment change.

What is the Compare Plan?

The Compare Plan is a single purchase that covers two separate 1-week iCare HOME2 rental periods. The purpose is to give patients and their eye care providers a structured before-and-after measurement window — measure your intraocular pressure before a treatment change, then measure again after the change has had time to take effect. You have up to 12 months to schedule your second rental after the first.

How do the two rental weeks work?

You purchase the Compare Plan once, which covers both rental periods. Your first rental ships as soon as your order and prescription are confirmed. When you are ready for your second rental, you contact MyEyes to schedule the second shipment — any time within 12 months of purchase. Each rental includes the iCare HOME2 device, measurement probes, a prepaid UPS return label, and expert support.

Who is the Compare Plan for?

The Compare Plan is a good fit when a clinician expects two distinct points in time worth measuring — typically before and after a planned treatment change, surgical procedure, or medication adjustment. Common situations include starting or changing a glaucoma medication, undergoing laser trabeculoplasty or another IOP-lowering procedure, or any intervention that is expected to shift eye pressure over weeks to months.

iCare HOME2 rental kit: tonometer, probes, quick start guide, and carry case

FDA-cleared tonometer shipped to your door for each rental period. No anesthetic drops, no air puff — a single measurement takes less than a second.

  • Measurement Probes Per Rental

Single-use, sterile disposable probes included with each shipment — enough for thorough monitoring throughout each 1-week window.

  • 2-Day Shipping

Fast UPS delivery ($35 per shipment) for each of your two rental periods, so you can start measuring quickly when the time is right.

  • Expert Support

Patient Ambassador support for both rental periods — device setup, measurement technique, troubleshooting, and return logistics.

  • Prepaid Return Label

Each shipment includes a prepaid UPS return label. Drop off the device at any UPS location when you are done — no extra cost.

  • Up to 12 Months to Use Second Rental

Your second week does not expire quickly. Schedule it whenever your follow-up monitoring moment arrives — up to 12 months after purchase.

When to Use the Compare Plan

The Compare Plan is most useful when there is a planned clinical event between the two measurement windows

Starting a New Medication

Measure your IOP during your current regimen, start the new medication, then rent again weeks or months later to see how your pressure responded.

Post-Surgery Monitoring

Establish a pre-surgical baseline, then schedule your second rental after recovery to confirm surgery moved your IOP in the right direction.

Adjusting an Existing Treatment

If your doctor is changing your dose or switching you between medications, the Compare Plan gives you objective before-and-after data to evaluate the change.

Pre- and Post-Procedure

Any intervention that is expected to affect IOP is a candidate — laser trabeculoplasty, implant insertion, or changes to systemic medications with pressure effects.

Only need one monitoring window? A standard rental may be a better fit.

Measure at Any Time, in Any Position

IOP fluctuates throughout the day and with body position. Capturing readings at different times — including lying down at night — gives your doctor a more complete picture than a single office visit can.

  • Morning and evening readings
  • Sitting upright or lying in bed
  • Same conditions across both rental windows

Common questions

How the Compare Plan works and who it is for.

What is the Compare Plan?

The Compare Plan is a single purchase that covers two separate 1-week HOME2 rental periods. The purpose is to give patients and their eye care providers a structured before-and-after measurement window — measure your IOP before a treatment change, then measure again after the change has had time to take effect. Each rental includes the iCare HOME2 device, measurement probes, a prepaid UPS return label, and expert support.

How is the Compare Plan different from two separate 1-week rentals?

At the regular 1-week rate of $299 per rental, two separate rentals would cost $598. The Compare Plan packages both for $399 — a savings of $199 — specifically designed for the common clinical scenario of before-and-after monitoring. It also makes coordination simpler because the second rental is already paid for and ready to schedule.

Who is the Compare Plan for?

The Compare Plan is a good fit when a clinician expects to have two distinct points in time worth measuring — typically before and after a planned treatment change, surgical procedure, or medication adjustment. If you expect only one short monitoring window, a standard 1-week or 2-week rental may be a better fit. If you expect ongoing monitoring over many months, purchasing the device outright is typically more cost-effective.

How fast does the device ship for each rental?

Devices ship via 2-day UPS for $35 per shipment and typically arrive within two business days of your order. For your second rental, the same shipping timeline applies once you contact us to schedule it.

Is a prescription required?

Yes. A valid prescription from a licensed eye care provider is required before each shipment. You will need to submit or confirm a prescription for both the first and second rental periods.
